2 Nephi 25:23

"For we labor diligently to write, to persuade our children, and also our brethren, to believe in Christ, and to be reconciled to God; for we know that is is by grace that we are saved, after all we can do."

The 18th of March is gonna be an awesome day. I just hope that I'm here to see it all happen. You see on this day there is a family that we are teaching, this day is now their wedding date. And the plan is to do the wedding ceremony, get them hitched, and then have their baptism. They are awesome. It's been awesome teaching them. But there's just one little itty bitty problem. This week on Sunday we have transfers. So I'll find out if I stay or if I go. And if I go the probability of getting to be there for the day is somewhat low. So I'm gonna have to hope that I don't get transferred or that if I do I stay within Belém. If I leave Belém it's pretty much a 0% chance that I'll get to be there for said wedding. But I imagine most of you have seen us on the return trip from the marriage office thingy (Cartório). There was singing and 4 missionaries in the back seat of a car and it was some what of a tight fit. But We also had the baptism of these 2 awesome young men, Lucas and Victor. They are really special. Like, they understand the lessons better than a lot of people, and they are very curious, they want to know more about stuff, so teaching them is very easy, the hardest part is responding to the questions at times. But I was rather glad to be able to see them take this step. And I rather hope I can continue to see them grow in the church. I love you guys.

A Picture is Worth a Thousand Words

I have so many Facebook friends in Brazil now. Someday I might even get to meet them. That has been an interesting side effect of Daniel's mission. I was sent these pictures today. They were taken by a family they've been teaching. There is also a video that I can't figure out how to get from Facebook to here. The missionaries have an acapella thing going on. It is wonderful. Except for that part of my brain that is wondering why there are so many of them squished into this little box of death careening down the highway. I can mostly suppress that voice. Mostly. Can't totally turn "Mom Panic" off.

A Week of Running Around

Yay! News from the boy.  BTW: According to Google translate, Palhaco = Clown.

This week was SSSSSSUUUUUPPPPPEEEERRRRR busy. Like, the first half of the week I wasn't even in my area. Tuesday Ii did a split with one of the missionaries in my district in their area. Wednesday I went and did a split with one of the Zone Leaders in their area. Thursday we had our Zone Conference. That was pretty cool. Like I honestly liked that quite a bit. It was cool to see all the peoples that I know that were there, and other than that what they passed to us was really cool. I was rather happy with it all. It did end up taking up the whole day. That was the only annoying part. So because of that I was only in my area for like, 2 days of the week. That kinda sucked. Plus I got back and there were several people who were surprised by the fact that I was there. Apparently my companion and the other Elder who was here decided it would be funny to tell everyone they met that I had been sent home. So there were some people there that kinda looked at me funny and "You're still here? I thought you went home." And My Companion, "NO, NO. He did go home, but he talked with the Bishop and Mission President and stuff and they let him come back. So he was only gone for like, 2 days." Palhaço. But it's all good. This week should be interesting. It's the last week of the month and if I'm right, Carnaval starts this week. so lets see how it goes. I love y'all.

FHE & Oreos

Cold, wet day in Texas. Hot, wet day in Belem, Brazil.

I HAVE OREOS!!!!

Today a member gave me some oreos. They're super expensive here so I pretty much never buy them. Now I just need to buy some good milk that tastes good and stuff and it'll be awesome. But That's sorta kinda hard to find. So let's see what gives.

But beginning of this week we had this Family Home Evening with this group of young men and this couple. They are awesome. All of them are neighbors and we're teaching 2 of the young men. The other ones are all members but we're working with them too. It was pretty fun.

Also stick pull there is with our new Ward Mission Leader's oldest boy. He's pretty fun although he's forgetting the english that he used to know which is disappointing. But the rest of the week was cool. Like, there were some things that didn't go quite as well as we would have lked but for the most part it all worked out. We are starting to work more with our Ward Mission as there is new leadership that is rather interested in actually working. So it should all be good. But yeah.

Also i'd like to ask a favor. If you guys could throw Elder Simião from my district in your prayers. The guy is starting his mission but he's starting out with some difficulties and a few health problems but all the help that he could get would be awesome. I love you guys

WATERMELON!!!!!!

Very short email this week. Usually an indication that he is very busy. Which is good.

This was the watermelon I ate the other day. It was awesome. You guys have no idea how long I've been wanting to eat some watermelon. Like, it's been about a month just that nobody else here in this area apparently wants watermelon so I had to take measures into my own hands. And I bought some and I ate it and it was great. BUUTTTTTTTT, yesterday was our stake conference which was cool. Some other missionaries there that I haven't seen in a while that was cool. other than that we had a member of the seventy there that was awesome. Like, i really liked some of the things that he talked about. Our mission president and his wife were also there and it's alays really cool to see them. They are really awesome people. BUT, It's all going good. Everyone is happy. Nobody is dead. And it's all going. I love you guys.
