the week

New email from Elder Monzingo with pictures!

This week was rather tiring. There was this whole weird thing with
divisions and a district meeting and all that stuff. And honestly it´d
be fine except we´re all somewhat far apart and so there´s a lot of
traveling done by people. which isn´t even done yet. We have more
divisions this week and other missionaries that already went to Belém
to renew visas but had to go back today and more traveling and
honestly traveling is not the best. Like I´m really tired. But this
week was good(other than the traveling) and today I can sleep and be
less tired! We are running into all sorts of people that are
rather interested in the gospel because of this family we are
teaching. We have a new investigator and her family that are all
receiving the messages. They are rather cool. But they all live on
these little bridge thingys that I have yet to take a photo of but will
so yeah. Also we went to this activity Saturday (mostly cause that was
sort of where our food was and there were some investigators going)
Which was cool. We played chess and dominos a little. And the guitar.
A little. I don´t really know how to play but I have figured out how
to play the opening parts for some music. Like, seven nation army and
come as you are, and that´s like it. cause they´re really simple. And
I don´t know how to play guitar. But also the two wards here (actually
I think the stake) are doing a trip to the Recife temple this week.
I´m a little bit jealous. But I don´t really have anything I can do
about it so it´s really well, yeah. I could use a temple those things
are great. But I love you guys. Have a great week!

FRENCH TOAST!!!!

This week's correspondence from our favorite missionary. This is the mass email he sends and I've added some thing he sent to me.

So we made FRENCH TOAST!!!! TODAY!!!! DE MANHA!!!! AND IT WAS
AWESOME!!!! Truthfully the bread didn´t quite have the best flavor but
we´ll try to fix that next time. It was great other than that. Like
perfect. I just need pancakes and waffles and stuff. Like everyday.
Only I can´t have maple syrup cause maple doesn´t exsist here so I´ll
have to fix that some how. Not sure how though. But anywho this week
was really cool. We have this family that we are teaching that at
least the daughter(like 16ish years old) goes to a assembleia de deus.
They yell a lot there. And do funny things that make no sense
whatsoever. But We had already taught the family the restoration and
this was like a week ago and so like we showed her a picture of the
temple and then the prophets and apostles and seventies and things
like that cause it was that page in the ensign or liahona that has all
of them in the conference edition that I may or may not have ripped
out and am currently carrying around, But then I retaught the
restoration with a member that was there while my companion was
talking with her dad and teaching a little and whatever and at the end
I asked if she had questions or doubts and she said she wanted to know
the truth. And you know those people that like you invite them to do
something and then promise that something will happen if they do and
then they do it? Well at least this time she was one of those people.
We went back the next day cause we had scheduled to go back the next
day with them and teach and she said that she prayed and got her
answer, the church is true and the gospel is true. And you know that
feeling when like, someone really did what you asked them to do and
did the whole prayer with real intent and got the answer and then
you´re just like happy? Especially cause like 2 days ago wasn´t the
best cause sick companion and then the following day weird stuff
happened that happened and you didn´t get all that you wanted done and
then someone gets and answer. Cause that was awesome. She went to
church yesterday and another activity that is essentially mission prep
class that we, the missionaries, do for the 2 wards of the city. This
family is great. I really hope I get to stay here for a while with
them. But ho knows. We´ll find out eventually. But like really. Super
super super super uper duper schmuper AWESOME!!!. But I love you guys.
Talk to yáll later

Temples are awesome. I need like, an expandable
pocket temple with temple workers and everything so that when I want a
temple  I can have one at anytime. Also ice cream here is not the
same. Ice cream is Ice cream but there is better. Also milk isn´t
really milk. Like I would never drink the milk here alone without
throwing in chocolate or something. But milk there definitely. Milk
here just doesn´t taste all that great.

Zone Conference

This is actually last week's letter. I only realized today that I hadn't posted it. Never fear. This week's letter will also be posted.

So I was robbed again. As in someone stole my stuff again. Except this
time it happened in church. cause we went to the zone conference in
Belém and were in the church and stuff and I had a towel and my flip
flop thingies and a change of clothes and shorts in the bag of one of
my missionary roomates and well what happened was that we were there
in the conference and after we had eaten and were talking with other
missionaries someone came in and one of the paris of Sister training
leaders talked to him and gave im pizza and soda and stuff and then he
left and when we left and went to where the bags were they were gone
and there was a pizza and a soda in the spot were said bags were. So
yeah. Fun times. But other than that this week went well. I got to see
a lot of missionaries that I haven´t seen in sometime at this zone
conference it was really pretty cool. Learned a lot too. At least I
hope so. But yeah so that´s it really. For te most part I think. I
love you guys

Daniel and his companion.

Roomates. One is from Brazil. They are not both Americans.

4th of July!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Elder Monzingo is in his new area. And I think he's a little excited about Independence Day.

RRRRRRRRRRRRAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Unfortunately there isn´t some sort of shirt that I can rip into shred
to reveal my other shirt under that one that is a massive flag of the
United States of America With painted fireworks and flags on my face
and arms and then turn into Captain America beating up Nazis to
display my patriotism but I can sing rather loudly with my American
missionary roomate and our district leader(through the phone) the
national anthem while saluting a daily planner that said roomate made
with a picture of said flag of the USA! USA! USA!
So that happened. And this week was interesting. I left Óbidos Monday
night and now I´m in Bragança. There´s 2 wards here, so I´m in a house
with 4 missionaries. It´s nice here. So far I like it. It´s no where
near as hot and there aren´t these massive hills everywhere. It also
has rained just about every day that I´ve been here. They also have a
stronger Ward mission than Óbidos. We have a Ward Mission Leader who
is in part preparing to go out on a mission himself but is really
working hard to do his calling and 2 newly called(this past Sunday)
ward missionaries. I think this should be good. We just need to work
with them all. But this week is gonna be interesting because Wednesday
I´m going to Castanhal on a division with the zone leaders and then
Thursday we have a Zone conference with the Mission President. So I´m
not even gonna be here for 2ish days this week. I just hope that all
goes well and I can make maybe a small difference this Wednesday. So
really it´s gonna be rather busy. At least I hope so. But it´s also
gonna be really tiring. I love you guys.
